Book lovers help to raise amazing amount for charity!

Last October, we hosted a special literacy month known as ‘Read On’. A whole array of activities took place in the shopping centre, that were designed to encourage visitors to get involved and reignite their passion for reading.
Key to the event was the Honesty Library. The idea was for shoppers to donate their unwanted books to the library in exchange for taking a new one. Due to it’s amazing success and the enjoyment it has brought to our local community, Weston Favell arranged for the Honesty Library swapping and donating to continue.
Over the past five months, the initiative has raised a staggering and truly touching £2,089.93 for Weston Favell shopping centre’s charity of the year, the Cynthia Spencer Hospice.
The books donated have reached a peak, with thousands being received and exchanged. But there is only one month left to take advantage of this event, as it will come to a close at the end of March 2017.
