Do it for dementia

Do it for Dementia was in the centre in March raising awareness of the fundraising efforts they partake in for Dementia.

The impact of dementia has widely been recognised as a growing concern within society with it foreseen that by 2015 there will be 850,000 people living with dementia in the UK alone. It is also estimated that two thirds of medical beds in general hospitals are occupied by people over the age of 65, and around 30% of them at any one time will have dementia.

Caring for people with dementia within an acute hospital setting raises a whole new set of challenges. Ensuring these patients receive the best possible care whilst they are with us at Northampton General Hospital is paramount.
